Description
The Davis - La Due Residence, 402 Morgan St. Circa-1908, is situated on the corner of Morgan and Cumberland Avenues, in Harriman, Tennessee. This folk Victorian was built in 1908 by A.R. Davis.
The home is part of the many beautiful homes associated with the Cornstalk Heights Historical Community Organization (CHHCO), a non-profit organization which started in 1990, when Killiffer Park, one of the communities premier parks, was under threat of being sold with construction of a planned housing project in its place. A community organization was formed to protect and save not only the park, but the surrounding historic home district in Harriman as well. The organization successfully applied to the National Historic Register and became offiicially recognized as Cornstalk Heights Historical Community Organization.
