Description
Cumberland Mountain State Park is a quiet place in Cumberland County, Tennessee, near the growing town of Crossville. Within the 1,720 acre park is a man made lake formed behind the Byrd Creek Dam pictured here. The little park offers a lot to visitors, including wonderful home-cooked meals in the lodge.
Construction of Byrd Creek Dam began in 1935 by the CCC and was completed it in 1938, effectively creating the 50-acre lake still in use today.
There is camping, cabins for rent, paddle boating, swimming, and quiet fishing like the man shown in the photo. Come visit it soon!
